What is the

Hotdogger

Foundation?

  • The Hotdogger Foundation was born on the slopes. We started as a small group of Aspen ski instructors who believed the mountain lifestyle is about more than just skiing — it’s about passion, play, and community.

In the locker room, we shared stories, stoke, and support for one another. On the mountain, we saw firsthand how chasing a passion can change lives, and how sharing it can inspire others. We wanted to carry that same energy beyond ski school and into the wider community.

When one of our own passed away in a tragic ski accident, everything came into sharper focus. We realized we needed something bigger — a way to support each other not only in times of loss, but also in times of growth. The Foundation became that space: a commitment to lift each other up, celebrate what we love, and never lose sight of why we live here.

What began as ski school camaraderie has grown into a foundation that supports Hotdoggers of every kind. From athletes and artists to neighbors and dreamers, we celebrate anyone who goes all-in and brings others along for the ride. Our mission has expanded, but our roots will always be in the snow.

  • Life in Aspen is full of opportunity — but it also comes with challenges. Chasing passions can be risky, lonely, or financially difficult. The Hotdogger Foundation exists to make sure no one has to go it alone.

We believe in supporting the people who make this community vibrant — through education, financial assistance, mentorship, mental well-being, and the simple power of coming together. Our role is to give Hotdoggers the resources, encouragement, and platform they need to share their passions and grow the community it inspires.

  • A Hotdogger isn’t just a skier showing off tricks — it’s anyone who chooses to go all-in on their passions and share them with others.

Hotdoggers live with heart and flair. They chase big goals, take risks, and bring energy wherever they go. But being a Hotdogger isn’t about ego — it’s about community. It’s about turning what you love into something bigger: inspiring, teaching, and lifting up the people around you.

In Aspen, Hotdoggers are everywhere — on the slopes, on the ice, on the pickleball court, on a stage, or behind a canvas. What connects them all is the decision to live boldly and give back generously.

At the Hotdogger Foundation, we celebrate Hotdoggers of every kind — because when passion is shared, the whole community grows.

  • The Hotdogger Foundation began as a ski school fundraiser with the legendary Ski School vs. Ski Patrol Hockey Game. From the very start, we wanted to give back to the community that shaped us, and we remain committed to that tradition. That’s why a portion of our proceeds will always be dedicated to supporting Aspen Ski and Snowboard School and its pros.

But Hotdoggers aren’t only in our ski school — they’re everywhere in our community. That’s why we’ve expanded our impact to support every Hotdogger in Aspen. By widening our reach, we ensure that the spirit of Hotdogging — passion, play, and community — touches every corner of our town.
